Twelve miles north of Shelton on Stretch Island, Mason County. Accessible by water only.

Stretch Point State Park was acquired in 1967, for a total cost of $55,000, from Peggy P. Sells.

Historical Background

Stretch Island was named by Captain John Wilkes during an exploratory journey in 1841 for a gunner's mate, Samuel Stretch.
